The Rambla de Mar is a splendid walkway and bridge over the harbour waters. A pedestrian walkway, Rambla de Mar, connects La Rambla to Port Vell. It incorporates a swing bridge, in order to allow ships to enter and exit the harbour. This “Rambla of the Sea”, which also forms a natural continuation of the Rambla de Barcelona urban promenade, is now perhaps the best-known symbol of the Port Vell.
