In the eyes of tourists, Warsaw often seems to be a city with incoherent and chaotic buildings. In the eyes of Varsovians, it is beautiful - because it exists. It may not boast of perfectly preserved relics of its past, but it was built from ruins by the efforts of thousands of inhabitants.
September 1, 1939 - 1.300.000 Inhabitants
During World War II, Warsaw suffered four times. The first destruction was the result of the German air raids in September 1939. After the ghetto uprising, the entire district was razed to the ground.
